  • Mortgage Loan Closer
    The Mortgage Loan Closer generates the Closing Disclosure and Closing documents for the mortgage loan.

    They work closely with the production staff to ensure disclosure and documents are sent to the title agent in a timely manner. Applicants should have previous experience working with conventional and government loans and knowledge of the Loan Estimate and Closing Disclosure documents.

    Summit Mortgage Corporation is seeking a talented Mortgage Loan Closer to work at our corporate office in Plymouth, MN. This position is responsible for performing final preparation and audit of all documents needed for closing. The ability to work in a fast-paced environment with an emphasis on attention to detail is critical.

  • Mortgage Underwriter
    The Mortgage Underwriter is responsible for completing a thorough analysis of mortgage loan files to determine compliance with company.

    Compliance with  investor, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, Rural Development, and FHA-DE and VA guidelines and requirements. Communicate decisions on loans to appropriate parties both verbally and in writing.

    We are currently looking for an Underwriter to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for completing a thorough analysis of mortgage loan files to determine compliance with company, investor, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, Rural Development, and FHA-DE and VA guidelines and requirements. Communicate decisions on loans to appropriate parties both verbally and in writing.

    PRIMARYDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Sound analytical and decision-making skills.
    • Superior oral and written communication skills.
    • Strong organizational skills.
    • Creative problem solving ability, exemplary customer service skills and commitment to quality.
    • FHA Direct Endorsement required.
    • VA automatic and VA/LAPP Preferred.
    • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
    • Experience with Byte, DU/LP and Microsoft Office applications helpful.

    KNOWLEDGE and SKILLS

    • Analytical ability with an aptitude for figures
    • Ability to work independently
    • Ability to effectively interact will all branch and company personnel

    JOB REQUIREMENTS

    Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent professional experience.

    Minimum 2 years processing experience and 1 year residential for mortgage underwriting experience.

    FHA Direct Endorsement certification.

  • Quality Control Analyst
    The Quality Control Analyst to reviews and analyze pre-funding and post close mortgage loans to ensure a consistent and high-level quality standard in loan production.

    This encompasses examining the existence and accuracy of income, asset, credit and legal documents, quality of property valuations, underwriting decisions, and compliance with agency, investor, regulatory and program policies.

    PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Review and analyze prefunding and post close mortgage loans
    • Issue, obtain and analyze verification responses from 3rd parties
    • Assists in developing target defect rates
    • Notice and report different quality trends
    • Suggest corrective actions and follow up to ensure corrective actions maintained
    • Assists in developing and implementing work processes that will prevent further deficiencies and improve quality
    • Assists in the Pre-Funding QC review process for selected files
    • Provides education regarding negative findings to loan officers, processors, underwriters, and other departments
    • May assist with analyzing and handling repurchase request with investors
    • May assist with updating Quality Control Policy for FHA, VA, USDA, Fannie Mae, and Freddie Mac requirements
    • May assist in researching and responding to Investor or Agency audits
    • Other duties as assigned by the Quality Control Supervisor and/or Compliance Officer

    KNOWLEDGE and SKILLS

    • Strong analytical and judgment skills with self-initiative
    • Detail oriented
    • Strong oral and written communication skills
    • Creative problem solving skills
    • Ability to work independently
    • Basic understanding of mortgage Underwriting, Quality Control and Compliance
    • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word; knowledge of Access a plus
    • Previous knowledge of Byte a plus
    • Previous knowledge of QC Ally audit software a plus

    JOB REQUIREMENTS

    • Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred
    • 4+ years of underwriting experience
    • FHA and Conventional experience required
    • Desktop Underwriter and Loan Prospector
    • DE endorsement preferred
    • VA and USDA experience preferred
    • Mortgage Quality Control and Compliance background a plus
    • Timely and regular attendance
